When The Branch outgrew our original location, we knew we wanted to stay in the heart of South Bend’s Central Business District. One reason for that is the convenience and connections that can be formed with such easy access to an array of restaurants choices. Let’s face it, going several blocks, or having to drive somewhere isn’t ideal. Here’s a rundown of twenty restaurant options that are on our block or within one block of our location!
Chicory Cafe – Great for coffee, breakfast, or lunch. Quite often, there are evening entertainment options. For those cold winter days, you don’t even have to go outside to get there from The Branch.
Jimmy Johns – Freaky fast! Another option you can have without leaving the building
South Bend Chocolate Cafe – They have so much more than chocolate! Not only do they have sandwiches and soups, they have a Ben’s Soft Pretzels shop inside.
The South Bend Brew Werks – Also a local startup. They brew their own, and are very involved in the community.
CJ’s Pub – Beer and burgers. Enough said.
Cops and Donuts – Dainty Maid District – Need that sugar kick in the morning? Cops and Donuts is it. Don’t forget to try the donut with bacon on it.
Cambodian Thai – A restaurant that was started in downtown, and has continued to grow. They do a very brisk business at lunch, including a large volume of take-out.
The Exchange Whiskey Bar – An upscale whiskey bar for the important work at the end of the day. We love the total lack of televisions inside.
Bruno’s Pizza – Fresh pizza sold by the slice. Good lunch specials.
Le Peep – Great for those breakfast meetings, and directly across the road from us.
Subway – Even though they’re no longer “sandwich aritists,” Subway is a good option.
Cafe Navarre – One of our upscale dining options. Great for meetings with clients.
The India Garden – There’s a nice buffet at lunch time. It’s very tasty.
Woochi – Our own Japanese restaurant, including sushi!
Cinco 5 International – Did you know you could get Thai and Mexican food in the same restaurant? It might sound unusual, but it’s delicious.
Baker’s Bar and Grille – Located inside the DoubleTree, it’s not just for people staying at the hotel.
Starbucks – There’s something to be said for a familiar brand.
City Wide Liquors – OK. Technically it’s not a “dining” option, but you can get your beer, wine, or spirits “to go.” They have an extensive selection to choose from.
Edible Arrangements – Tasty fruit in fun shapes! Great for giving, or for yourself!
Linden Grill – They’re in the process of opening a new storefront. Look for them soon.
If we missed somebody, please let us know. Nobody was excluded intentionally.
